Lauterbrunnen base-jump victim: Spanish star

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The latest victim of base-jumping in Lauterbrunnen, canton Bern, was a well-known adventurer and TV star, Alvaro Bulto. He was also a one-time beau, in the early 1990s, of the Spanish princess, Infante Cristina, who has just moved to Geneva with her children.

Bulto died Friday morning 23 August while base-jumping in Stechelberg. He was with a group of other jumpers and when he jumped at 10:00 his parachute failed to open, for reasons police are investigating.
