Hi everybody:

I am a German student and right now I am studying at American University in DC. My major is journalism and I have also worked as a freelancing journalist in Germany for the last couple of years.

I guess I can imagine some of your thoughts right now; I know that many base jumpers have already made bad experiences with journalists and don‘t want to have anything to do with them. Nevertheless I would be pleased if you kept on reading this post - maybe it sounds interesting to some of you in spite of everything!

For my journalism class I have to write a profile on an interesting person. A profile story means to portrait a person by observing and talking to him/her, and would also include to talk to friends/colleagues and maybe even family members. And I would like to write my profile about a skilled base jumper.

As I know there are some (often unfortunately justified) reservations about journalists I want to make clear that I would do everything necessary for you to confide in me. I would be accurate and fair, and would guarantee the highest transparency of my work possible. My goal is NOT so show how crazy or dangerous base jumping is, but write a comprehensive profile on an interesting person.

If this seems interesting to you (or at least not totally strange) or you have any further questions I would be very pleased to hear from you! You could either sent me a PM or give me a call at 202-569-9106!

Btw: I‘m at the Bridge Day this weekend - maybe that's a good chance for a first meeting.

Thank you,
Matthias
