    Aerials

Aerials: is a term for freefall-maneuvers performed during a BASE jump. This can include rotations on all three axes of the body, in comparison to “standard” belly-to-earth-jumping. Aerials like flips, turns or a combination of both are becoming more common in the BASE world. They carry a certain amount of risk, because a bad body position at deployment is one of the major influences for a probable off-heading opening. And this can cause Problems.

    Aerials
Proper preparation and proper training is absolutely necessary when doing aerials. Prior gymnastic instruction is prudent, and practice over soft landing areas like pools or foam pits can be helpful before executing an aerial off a fixed object.

A very good first look at the complexity of Aerials can be read at Dwain Westons article on aerials.
