Baffin Island... NEED HELP

I am trying to plan a trip to Baffin next year sometime. I could use some advice from a person who has been there. If you have any info please reply to this.

never eat a polar bears liver. it has levels of vitamin A that are deadly toxic to a human being.

also my advice would be dont stand up in the canoe, if you fall out the water is so cold you would be dead in a minuite. mtnman isnt kidding about the mittens hey, its flipping cold up there.

I'll try to avoid the polar bears if possible. If not I think I have something that can deal with them. As for the canoe, I wasn't really planning on roughing it too much. I'm thinking more along the lines of chartering a helicopter. Do you know any companies that work the area? I would like to be able to set up a base camp, whether on the ice or in town and do day trips to the various areas. If you have a better plan Im all ears, but I have the means and like to get the most out of my time. I was looking to do some snowboarding and get as many jumps in the mix as possible. I'm thinking maybe about 2 weeks up there with a good amount of logistical support. Can you recommend any vendors for support stuff? Any other tips?

also he may come across as being a bit more sensible than the advice we have given you so far.

im just wondering but when you were a kid did your mom tie your mittens to each other with a long cord across inside the arms of your jacket and then the other kids would run up behind you and shout "bring your mittens" then grab one mitten and pull really hard causing you to punch yourself in the face with the opposite hand. and since then you get really pissed off when someone tells you to "bring your mittens".
or do you lack a sense of humor for a different reason?

Boy, the wit runs deep here. Well turbo, unlike some of you dope smoking, Birkenstock wearing, DZ bum, jobless ****ers, I have a busniess to run and real life responsibilities. I don't have the time to sit on Blinc all day and run my ****ing mouth. If you would like to find out about how the mittens work I will be more than happy to show you. Just look me up in person and we can discuss it until you are content. As for your wealth of advice...I must say I am disappointed at the lack of knowledge on this forum. I remember now why I stopped posting here a few years ago. It seems to be too much to ask to just answer simple questions with things like "here is a good person to contact" or "this is the number of a local hotel". I will make sure to contact Lee though. I am guessing he is the only person so far that has usefull info.

actually im an ex DZ bum, i haven't jumped out of a plane for 1 1/2 years as I'm base jumping way to much to bother with skydiving at the moment. i also have a job and some real life responsibilities too.

well well well it seems i was right!!!, those mean kids scarred you for life didn't they?.
let me know the dates for the Baffin trip, its going to be so much fun!!! just you , me and the chopper pilot staying in the hotel out there on the ice.! ill bring some spare mittens for you so you don't loose your fingers to frostbite!(if you can get over your phobia of mittens enough to put them on).

so far you have a grand total of 9 posts from 3 threads on this website and regarding another thread you posted in you were given some very sound advice by someone very knowledgeable concerning your using sail slider for base. also there is nothing actually wrong with the advice you have been given in this thread, i admit we haven't been particularly helpful but just think of the entertainment we are giving people.
