    RE: Zp topskin

When I had just started jumping, I watched Anne testing a ZP topskin v-tec Fox. Seemed to be opening very hard on 2 or 3 second delays, and of course was that much harder to pack.

How much lower than 600 feet are you thinking of going? I think for freefalls in the 200-600 foot range, ZP topskin is more trouble than it's worth. To me, harder to pack = more chance of screwing it up, and the benefits just don't outweigh the problems unless you're doing very low stuff. Why are you thinking of going ZP topskin?

    RE: Zp topskin

I jump a fox 265 v-tec zp top skin with multi as my main canopy now. I only have 35 jumps on this rigg so my knowlage is limited (100 jumps total) I've jumped it bird man in Norway down to 220ft freefall. I still jump it as per BR's chart. Yes it opens fast but i realy like that about it. I put a mesh slider on it for any thing over 4 secs. The most I've taken it free fall is 7 secs with mesh slider and it felt nice. I have been told it is very hard at termanalwith mesh slider so I have got a sail slider with a hole cut in the center for this although I havent tested it yet I know thats how JJ was jumping his ( maybe he can give you mor on that). Yes packing can be a bitch but you find ways round that. I did 5 practice pack jobs before I was happy to jump it.

I think zp top skin V-tec fox will come into its own on low free fall (sub 300 ft) and short slider up delays (4-7secs) plus Birdman.

As I say this is all based on limited experience but I hope it helps. If you need more get back to me here or at talk2slip@hotmail.com

It's a more versatile canopy than I thought it was... Thanks!

    RE: Zp topskin

referance what I wrote above it should read

I use a mesh slider for 4 secs and above ( I've done solid 3secs no slider but I wouldn't want to go much more ).
