    Pin or Velcro

I am getting a new GTI (first wingsuit) and am planning on BASE jumping with it once I become proficient with the suit out of a plane. I am trying to get ready for Norway in 2003. My question is a pin rig neccessary for wingsuit BASE or is a very well maintained velcro rig ok?? I have done plenty of flips etc with my velcro from 1500-2000' A's and never had any problems. Do I have to get a new BASE rig for my GTI??? Thanks in advance and c-ya in Norway NEXT july! ;-)

    RE: Pin or Velcro

    Yo !

A secure pin rig is a must for any wingsuit flying - this is rather self-explainatory. A few people did fly with Perigee II or Reactor 4 kinds of velcro rigs and so far it was ok... but won't be for long. You are exposed to high speed airflow for long periods of time. Anything you wouldn't be comfortable with on a freefly jump from 14000' you shouldn't take on a wingsuit flight.

    bsbd!
