the helicopter boogie here in norway last weekend was great for many reasons, and one of these reasons is that the sports safety levels and the level of base jumping itself has been lifted with the new phoenix fly pants from robert peknik. i love tracking as most of us do, and to see these pants in action was amazing, for anyone that knows kjerag norway, jon inga tracked to the light house after only 3 shots with the pants. other people were almost making the landing area and others were making it, and all of this from exit point 6, the speed of these things are unbelievable and they are still in the prototype stage. there was even arguements between jumpers fighting over who should wear the pants next. there is also a jacket as well which is equally good, who would have thought that you would be able to track as far as you could fly a wingsuit. robert has broken away from his company birdman to persue his other designs and has come up with some all time stuff which will ultimately make the sport safer and allow us to fly even better, there is a demo pair here in norway and production should be starting very soon, these will be huge for the sport. email robert and ask him all about them.
stay safe
