    Boycott the IPBC?

Boycott the IPBC??? Does not seem like such a bad idea considering all the hpye surrounding the recent "events" the IPBC has "organized." Seems that people are boycotting the IPBC after only 18 people have showed to compete this year in Moab. This includes a few people I know, including myself, that don't like the idea of paying for other peole to have fun - and then some - at my expense. Guess I will never give myself the chance to compete against other BASE jumpers given the structure and outrageous COST associated with the events. Lets see, 18 x 250 = $4500 - 1000 for cash prizes = $3500 - plane tickets, hotel costs, and food costs for the organizers and judges and so on = close to nothing - if not out of pocket costs. I feel better now...

    18 people? LMAO!!!

Are you sure that's all that showed up?

I guess theres not much left to boycott since hardly anyone seems to care. I never really thought of base as something to compete against anyone, other than myself.

18 competitors, thats got to leave a bruise.

Look on the bright side, there will be enough trophies for everyone!

    Revisions

Remember, the three IPBC "organizers" do not pay the $250, and neither do the "boys" of one of those "organizers."

(That's one of the IPBC's dirty little secrets... the entry fees of best buddies and teammates of IPBC "organizers" are subsidized by the people who pay the full price (internal IPBC conversatons refer to these people not as competitors but as "marks" and "suckers").)

    So feel even better, Turbulence:

    18-3=15
    15-5=10
    10x$250 = $2500
    $2500-$1000 for prizes = $1500
    $1500 - $1500 for judges = 0

Amount left over for the IPBC "organizers"?

The exact same number as their current standing in the BASE community.

    Matter of time

In light of the revisions I have been made aware of (thanks professor), I wonder how long it will take before the IPBC folds - becoming no longer worth while for the "organizers." Hoepfully, someone who owns some integrity and dignity, who believes in fairness, will emerge on the scene to create a competitive arena that takes into account contemporary BASE jumping where aerials are judged (bridge day was a start) and pin rigs can be used.

    Hopefully that will be soon...

    RE: Boycott the IPBC?

What sounds best in the revised press release?

    Over one dozen jumpers errr....

One and a half dozen jumpers....

not quite 20 jumpers showed up...

15 percent of the jumpers were event organisers...

With only 18 jumpers, beer costs were kept to a bare minimum......
