SUMMARY: "(BASE jumping) felt like a natural progression of the sport of sky diving," he said. "I made my first jump at Bridge Day in West Virginia from a 876-foot bridge in front of 150,000 people. It was totally different from sky diving, because the freefall is shorter and more intense and your peripheral vision is packed with the motion of cliff walls, buildings and other objects rushing by.
