Is there a safe and NON-permanent way to write something on the top skin of a canopy?

Something that could be easily seen after opening, but not permanent...

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I've seen a friend use 2" wide adhesive backed F111 repair tape with success. It's available from Paragear and similar vendors. Just take it off after you're done. Better yet, carry some extra around on your BASE trips in case you get a small tear that needs temporary repairs.
