why are all the locals in deland so un help full to other base jumpers!!!! thats not the spririt if you ask me!!! im here for normal packing and base but no1 helps u s out!! why??? we won't blow your sites!!! people lets al be a little bit more helpfull to fellow basejumpers!!!!!! i mean if no1 helps u and u have to find things out yourself you get a higher risk of blowing an object insted of helping fellow base jumpers!!! im edu the packer and packing for the dutch crwe team!!! if you think im wrong please let me know!!! edumertz@wanadoo.nl or basejump@wanadoo.nl

The first place I hear the phrase, "Locals Only Tower," is in DeLand.

The year is 1989 . . .

Oh well.

My girlfriend is in Florida right now, and went through DeLand a few days ago. She mentioned remembering you because on the way to the plane she heard you mention something about BASE jumping.

(I now have this picture of you standing there going, "Psst!, hey mister, any sites? . . . Hey, over here, BASE jumper? Psst . . . hey, need ground crew? . . . Psst! . . . hey!).

She's not a BASE jumper herself, and it's her first time at that DZ, so excuse her for not saying hello.

When I see people needing the local tour in North Western Europe I continue to see responses from Ronald. I've never met him but he is obviously willing to share his knowledge and provide hospitality. Please, give a brother a break and do likewise. It's not like he's going to fly transatlantic, mid-week to bandit jump your objects.

Giving a tour prevents misunderstandings and, one day, you may find yourself in Holland with a packed rig and no objects in sight.

The whole system works if we all act in the right spirit.

Man, I have been resisting a strong urge to post a bunch of negativity here. Two words I read above set me off. One is "locals" the other is "Deland". I picked up a bad taste for one when I started surfing. I pick up a bad taste for the other when I started skydiving.

Personally brother if I had any info I would help you out.

Having said all of this, maybe people are just uncomfortable offering information to people they aren't sure about. Don't take it too personally.

Hello,

"Locals" is just the name of a VERY public site. The problem is that it is not jumpable right now.
There is an active slider down site in the area, but those "two jump wonders" are not ready to do it.
