Howdy all,
Yep, Thomas is BACK! I don't know for how long, but at least two posts. one to disregard the coward who tried to slander me in the "Did you notice" post. the other one is this one, so I can say my piece again.
I have read the registered user's policy on BASE board use, and I cannot say all I want to hear, out of respect for Mick, and his policy. business is business.
So, My name is Thomas Mauch. I am originally from WI, but am moving west. I will not disclose location, for that would indicate MORE BASE jumping will be occurring in the city I move to. and I do contact the locals most of the time, but I have a few cities pegged, where I would not chance calling the locals. So many enemies I have made, being honest and open on this board, I do not know where I am not welcome anymore. I know some places I AM welcome, and enjoy those people and places greatly.
The biggest pain I get from this BOARD is the anonymous posters who like to threaten me, or others, and also pretend to have some KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, or IMPORTANCE in the sport of BASE jumping. while I may not have more jumps than you, I may have different jumps, and outcomes. I'll start a POLL on interesting jumps, just to get a survey. I request that only registered users bother to answer this poll.
but I also don't care if people listen to me or not.
and with that same token, sometimes I care NOT to listen to people. Marty, not to bring you into this in a bad way. just an example foir my colorado critics. I believe Marty himself made the statement to me that though I had under 100 jumps, I had wilder, more, crazier???(I forgot the exact quote) different stories than him. Well, fine. If you have never jumped stoned, why would I take advice from you about how to jump. I am not always stoned when I am jumping, but either way I am comfortable, and not bothered by other's opinions.
and I get long winded sometimes.......I guess a week of silence will do that.
lastly, I have no problems meeting new people nicely, or jumping WITH people, but these are also not necessary. If you and your crew. (remember this one) see me out on the bridge, don't bother walking away. By the time you are halfway out on the bridge (or exit point), I will be gone.
I am not doing this out of rudeness. I am just real paranoid about who I may meet out there. and, I don't like to dawdle around at the exit points. I feel it brings more attention to stand OUT on the bridge and wait for the BOAT. just jump, and wait down there. or, wait at side, where you can talk with the tourists, and tell them about our great sport, and our love for the city of Twin Falls.
I will be back out there eventually, and I plan to clean up the rusted tin cans that sit just below the canyon rim. Anyone who has climbed out, and not up the last part under the bridge, but a little towards Evil Knievel's jump ramp, have noticed this HUGE pile of rusty cans. I am hoping to have it completely cleaned, and natural looking before I die. which I also hope is a long time from now, but who knows? my greyhound bus may crash, and that could be all she wrote.
for now, that's all I'll write. I always read the board, and I may add a post here or there when I feel I HAVE SOMETHING VALUABLE to contribute. I will not even argue with the flamers. that does no good. I take serious offense to the anonymous coward who posted slandering me and ROBIN HEID under the post "Have you noticed" because my FRIEND out west has asked me politely to refrain from using any homophobic language, and I said that I would, and apologized for my previous usage. I accept all walks of life, and am not out to offend anyone. I no longer use racist, sexist, sexual orientation, or any other differences to single people out, or pick on them and put them down. I hope everyone can accept differences. As BASE jumpers, we are all unique. And the last thing I ask, is can't we just be PEACEFUL, HAPPY, NICE, and CIVIL to each other?????
Peace out,
Thomas M. Mauch :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
