Has anyone tried the salomon products? I was looking at several of there products.
I had to downlaod and save that new add... It is really slick!!!. wish it was several minutes long :) instead of 30sec
I have their escentric shoes and love them for short to medium hikes.
Solomon has a mid-top called "mid-exit gtx". They don't have death hooks and are on sale at backcountry.com for $96 (this includes free shipping).
I put it to you, Sir, that the $96 charge EXCLUDES free shipping.
:P
PS Yes, I do have nothing better to do.:7
I had a pair of Exit Mid-GTX's for several years and loved them. I eventually loved them to death, but they were great shoes.
Solomon also makes a cheaper version, just the Exit-Mid (GTX stands for the Goretex liner that makes the shoe waterproof).
However, my pair DID have the death hooks. Have they changed the design?

Actually, the 2001 model doesn't have a hook at the ankle, the shoelace is totally encased. Yes, GTX stands for gortex and they are on sale for $96, which is about $20-$25 off, putting them at the same price as the non-gtx model. No tax either. Yes, shipping for any purchase over $50 is free. I've found that Backcountry.com seems to have the best prices for on-line purchases.
not SIR
My Salomons had death hooks on them. A quick trip to the shoe repair centre, £5 ($7) and 30 mins later and they were replaced with D loops, easy
