    BASE 715

It is official - the Dog is now BASE 715. Many thanks to Rick and Joy for their wonderful service. You guys ROCK!

Also 1000 thanks to my BASE mentors, you all know who you are and you know how grateful I am for your guidance, knowledge, time, and care. I promise to pass on that passion when I am experienced enough to mentor other pups in our wonderful sport.

    Peace,

    Yeehaa!

    Congratulations Dog!

Receiving your BASE number is such an awesome feeling. It took me 2 years of jumping before I finally got my last object - and what a feeling it was.

You know what d-dog? I just returned from a very long airplane ride, am completely exhausted, but am so jazzed from reading your post that I'm going to go pack in a few minutes and do a static-line from this tiny little A that's only 20 minutes from my house.

Thanks for the energy lift and once again, CONGRATS!

I must mirror 700's thoughts on reading your posts; I enjoy reading them too.

You will see your number everywhere you look from now on... the clock, billboards, odometers, etc. I'm sure it already fits you like a glove and that you're proud to wear it.

    congrats, dog.

The PDX crew have been secretly trying to kill you ever since you started (and we’ve come damn close to being successful on a number of occasions!!!!).
You mean you believed all that crap about "It's not that windy/underhung/low - just run hard" and “Just take a 2 sec delay, you probably won’t impact the ledge by then”?
What do you think we do for entertainment around here – just BASE jump? No we take visitors and newbies and generate work for Dr Nik (hey 5% kickback isn’t bad!). Plus it gives Ray something to talk about (other than where he bought his shoelaces).
But we failed; you lived, so welcome to the club. Full membership privileges when you bag your first newbie/visitor!!!

Oh my god - I can only imagine the abuse and misery the next generation will endure if they aren't hard core enough.... Oh well, Give ‘em hell!

    Seriously though - congrats.

Oh, I'll be easy on the young pups in BASE but you better watch out if you are going to survive my "intro to climbing" course! We still have to get up Mt. Hood before the weather breaks and it gets all warm and stuff. I'm sure you will just loooove the whole "alpine climbing in winter" experience.

. . . and who said you guys were trying to kill me? Seems like I almost succeeded in tripping you up as many times as you did me. Who was the first off LB, eh? Talk about a sucker, sheesh. . . but boy the helmet cam footage sure is fun to watch ;-)

    Hahahaha!

    Congrats Doug!

Some people reading that last post might actually believe he's kidding, but I know better. x(

I need to be extra vigilant...now that you've got your number Dwain's gonna redouble his efforts to kill me.

When are you guys gonna come up and take another shot? :*

    RE: BASE 715

We'll be up there when this crap-a$$ weather abates a bit! You know the winds are bad when the PDX crew is shut down and posting boring screeds on the Bitch Board rather than out jumping and scaring ourselves.

How about next weekend? Email me and we'll set up a suitably sketchy and exhausting BASE day. Probably best on Sat, as the Dog will be out all night Saturday partying with my favorite spinner, DJ Alex.

Email me, ok? Our people will coordinate with your people, and all that.
