    Short antenna

Hi there, I have been spying this antenna(did I spell that right??) for a while now, and I need advice from somebody. The thing is 180 feet, in an open field. There's a pretty consistant 10 mph wind through the object most nights. I'm slider off, line mod, 48" pc, velcro container. Is there anything I'm forgetting?? Is this thing too short?? It's so tempting!!! Let me know what you think. See Ya Out There!!

    RE: Short antenna

Ummm. Free fall or static line?

If you're planning on freefalling it, I'd recommend you move down under (Especially with Velcro and a 10mph tailwind).

In fact, I'd say don't freefall it.

A static line ought to be ok, though.

    RE: Short antenna

No, I didn't figure on freefalling it. I was wondering if going static line would open me up too close to the object. I don't want to have to deal with an off heading that close to the wires. I'm actually thinking I'm not going to jump this one. Maybe after I'm more experienced. Thanks for the advice. CYA
