    jumping with contact lenses. problems??

so I've started jumping with contact lenses
instead of glasses primarily because of the
    enhanced peripherial vision. however, i'm
paranoid that my contacts my may blow out for
delays beyond 5 seconds. i made a jump
recently at night wearing contacts and clean goggles and couldn't see very well when coming in to land and was unhurt luckily (actually a close call). I'm sure there wouldn't have been a
problem if I was not wearing goggles or if I had
been wearing my glasses. is there a good
chance my contacts will blow out for medium
delays (4 to 8 seconds)? Thx - Chris

RE: jumping with contact lenses. problems??

    Hi Chris:

I don't wear contacts personally. However, I do have a friend who does. I know (and have video to prove it!) that he has worn contacts and no goggles on at least 30 terminal delays (around 20 off a well known legal site in Norway, and the rest off a couple of big rocks in a well known Valley out West). He's never had a problem with them blowing out.
