Well said, Mr. McDork!! Much more interesting than the ramblings of Robin "Look at how many big words I can use" Heid

'Ol Robin does tend to get a bit heated, doesn't he? I think it is because of his being busted so many times. A BASE jumper with half a brain and a balanced ego will make sound decisions in his adventures... He won't REQUIRE attention be paid to him.

    Dorks vs. the reading impaired

You two gentlemen seem to be having a little trouble with your reading comprehension.

Mr/ms McDork said people are dorks for spouting off about all their world travels and the cool jumps they make... not because they offer commentary and suggestions and history about the politics and process of BASE jumping.

I don't talk on this board about the jumps I make, and maybe you ought to get a dictionary if you think I use too many big words.

Thanks very much for one thing though: At least both of you have the courage and integrity to identify yourselves and take credit for your potshots, even if they are off-target.

    :)

    Love,

    Robin

It does seem there are many DORKS who like to post and feed their EGO. Knowledge is what we seek , not your fish, I mean BASE stories. Unless, they teach us a lesson, give us insight to our great sport, please watch your video and say" IM cool, look at me" IM having fun, late my brothers.

    RE: Dork breedin'

HI MY BASE BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!! I'm at the consulate's house here in Cambodia and I'm looking for Charlie! Has anybody seen Charlie?
    My phone number is: 00-128796545-13264793-12367965-469874695809284.
    Or my email:
    <IBASEJUMP@imcool.dork>

We have a BASE trip planned and I'm gonna teach him how to BASE jump because it's really cool and people will think he's cool if he gets into BASE jumping. I already know people think I'm cool and they like me because I BASE jump and I have 300 BASE jumps. Now people will think I'm REALLY cool because I teach people how to BASE jump!

I don't know the best way out of a paper bag, and i'm stuck in one right now. Can anyone help me find the best way out? Did I already ask you about charlie? It's getting kind of hard to breath in here...

    CYA SOON!!!

Yes, i'm a dork. We are all dorks in one way or another. My post has worth. The reason for the post is to help people understand many issues within BASE. Look beyond the surface, read between the lines and figure it out. I would like to see what you come up with...

I think I'm catching on to you're vibe, although you are expressing it in a really wierd way. Tell me if I'm right, but are you referring to the "I can base jump and have lot's of base jumps, therefore I can teach base jumping to others" attitude that many base jumpers have.
    Breedin' dorks, right.

I recently heard of a guy that had less than ten jups total and attempted a double gainer at a relatively tall bridge out west somewhere. Problem was that he ended up doing three. He thougth he was invincible, like many new jumpers do, and his next jump was going stowed through the steel. He got lucky I suspect because he didn't get injuried or die.

I agree with you Mc Dork. We should leave teaching of base jumping up to those who have developed formal courses where, unfortunatley, you have to pay money to gain knowledge. I guess in those terms it's like AFF.

    I don't know if I'm right, but it's a thought.

    dork,

What about these low freefall guys. Just because one guy can survive a low freefall when he approaches it technically and with a lot of thought, many other non-thinking "cool" BASE jumpers think they can do it too. I was at the exit point the other day and this guy with 100 or so jumps who had been watching others that had invested lots of experience and thought into the jump - calcualting it to the max, said to me that he was gonna give it a go. I said, "what!" as he put on his 48 inch F111. (This rock was low, about 180 feet or so). He proceeded to tell me that he wasn't sure he was gonna make it and that i could have his dog. I said, "well, aren't you gonna at least prime your rig? He said, "what do ya mean?" anyway, I talked him out of jumping and he later thanked me. The guy was a total dork! He's not long for this world.

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I'm NOT A DORK AND I SKYDIVE! I have lots of skydives and base jumping looks terribly easy. I mean, come on! How hard could it be to fall, grab the risers, whatever. I can't find anyone to tell what to do me so I'm thinking of just going to New River by myself. I'm pretty smart and I catch on quick. no need to worry bout me. Dose anybody want to join me? email me: SKYJUMPS@yahoo.com
    call me: (538) 562-9085
I would never waste my money.

    low freefalls and flips

You guys are CRAZY and stupid! What is the value of life to you? Not much if you have the kahunas (if that's what it takes) to put yourself into those postions w/out the knowledge to pull it off. I don't know, I guess I don't want it that bad, maybe I'm a whimp, maybe I'm getting old. I do know if you do want it that bad, EDUCATE YOURSELF &TRAIN FOR IT - IGNORANCE WILL KILL YOU IN BASE.
