    RE: Advice to *NEW* Jumpers...

My advice to NEW jumpers on the subject of INSTRUCTORS....
Research the teacher you choose. Not all teachers are equal. A majority of instructors are FAR under-qualified and are teaching for EGO, or BEER, Or BOTH.
The ones that don't hunt for you, but make you hunt for them; and the ones that make you work your BUT off at the DZ and ground crew, are the intelligent ones that you should seek out.

Search for references on your instructor. If they know enough to teach you correctly, many other people will also know them. If nobody knows them, they have probably not been BASE jumping long enough to actually know what to teach you.

What you don't know about BASE-jumping, Can/Will Kill or seriously injure you.

    Use BASE gear

Use BASE specific gear appopriate for your jump. NEVER take short cuts with gear and whilst inexperienced follow the old adage "be a follower not a leader".

Be very selective on who you choose to jump with.
Will they carry you on their back to safety after you're injured knowing they will be arrested?

Get the tools (skills like accuracy, tracking, exits,dialed-in-canopy and protective wear) you need before you jump. You canīt always get them after. Also, the most common mistake Iīve seen in Norway/Italy is having insufficient altitude to reach the planned LZ safely if at all do to poor or no adequate planning of the dive. I draw upon my experience of Ground Crewing for over 7000 bigwall jumps, instructor etc.
    Take care,

Tracy your skill and boatmanship was missed by all please be there next year. Trying to talk students with 3 jumps all headdown exits ,out of jumping smell we needed you. You know how to tell them that it's for their own safety. That scenario happened 3 times infront of me with experienced norgie locals and many other experienced jumpers in the conversation. And still they went.

One jumper not only wanted to jump it he thought he would add some bad weather to it three jumpers told him it would be safer to walk down but still he wanted to jump .I told him i have walked down many times and it takes more brains to walk back than to jump .After two jumpers did a 2 way thru 6secs of cloud took 10 secs, wingsuit jumper with 100+ wing jumps landed In the water 2 jumpers opted for the a landing area rough landings and another opened high in the cloud and landed short .And it still took Me and Chris 20mins more to try to get him to walk back .

Lucky for us because "JJ THIS IS WHERE I SAVED THAT GIRLS LIFE"
. (IN A FU(KED UP ENGLISH ACCENT) Ask JJ FOR THE WHOLE FUNNY DETAILS OBOUT THIS quote

So something i learned first hand if your mind tells you it's not right dont jump or tell the people your jumping with where your heads at,and listen to experience becouse they have seen it before.
