Does anyone here have any experience with these things?

How well do they work with Sony Nightshot? We'd like to get video of some openings from the ground so we'd like something that will go about 100 yards. Will this work?

I have a small SureFire IR light. It's supposed to have a 100ft range. I found it ineffective beyond about 30 feet. I then Googled on night vision and how Sony implements it in their camcorders. I forget exactly what I read, but it was enough for me to give up. I think it had something specifically to do with Sony's application of the technology.
