    after deployment plans

i was lucky enough to start skydiving at 16, ten years later and i still love it. multiple deployments and alot of time as a broke enlisted soldier are some of the reasons i dont have 1,000 jumps yet. i've been wanting to get into base jumping for about 8 years but i dont know anyone who does it. i live in jacksonville fl. and im hoping to find some one that can mentor me, and some places to jump that are close. i plan on going to bridge day when i get back from iraq in 2010. i want to have my own gear before i jump. so if anyone from the 904 area code wants to help me out, let me know.

i dont have a set dz, i used to jump at palatka alot, deadland, z-hills, and pretty much anywhere else i can go. i dont usually have enough cash to go regularly so i dont mind not having a home dz. and i have 900 jumps. i jump a velo 96 but im 170 out the door so i dont overload it too much.

    Thank you for your service!

The nice people at Palatka know who BASE jumps.

There is one well known guy who is experienced

and may be persuaded to train you for bridge day.

I have a hard time believing your story. Who are you? When did you jump at Palatka? Seems to me that someone that has been jumping for 10 years, with 900 jumps at several dropzones in Florida, would know people who knew people that base. Especially since you said you started jumping at 16 which usually takes considerable dz connections in the United States.

I think this might be our friend towerjumper.
