    Pipistrellus is born

Pre-production Pipistrellus (Roman Latin for bat) has been unleashed.

The Pipistrellus covers the gap between the Flockus and the Volturius (the real husky pilot suit).

Notice the optional extra-long leg wing (available on all suits).

Pull-time is super clean, I'd base it with the standard BOC any time.

Some pilots might want to consider a ROL on the Rigor Mortis wings because of the much longer grips. I personally don't have any issues at pull time with the RM but one test pilot reported some issues and he would not feel comfortable in the base environment w/out a ROL.

Also, all production suits will come with 100% detachable arm wings so you can have a flocking/skydiving set and a faster set for other businesses...

Back at the sewing machines now...

Damn Nick, that thing looks huge! Nice work, keep it up.
I only jumped the RM1 and the RM2 once each (skydiving) and never had an issue at pull time. Don't have any other suit to compair them to, that said, I thought they both kicked ass. RM2 seemed fast as hell. I think a custom fit suit would have even impressed me more. If I were to BASE the RM2 I would definitely want many many more skydives on it because of the big handles. Prolly would want a lot more BASE jumps too :-)

    Justin,

This suit is meant for bigger pilots than you or me. It's floaty and super easy to fly but not too fast forward, maybe at a higher wing-loading. I'm going to jump it this week with 20 and 40 LBS of lead then send it to a test pilot heavier than me.

Also, the extra long leg wing makes it even more floaty, possibly killing some forward thrust but then again if you're not at least 185 LBS naked weight, I'd steer away from such leg wing, not worth it IMO.

As for the RMII, it is the fastest suit no doubt but at higher wing-loading it might not provide enough float-ability when flown dirty, not your problem at all.

In the end, light and middle weight pilots should steer towards the Rigor Mortis and Flockus, medium-heavy the Pipistrellus, and the real husky ones (over 195 LBS) the Volturius.

I'm about 220 lbs. at exit, and I loves me some Flockus II. The wingset you gave me works fine for fat fuckers.

The Flockus is a fast suit, you'll be slower with the Pipi.

The Flockus retains a similar arm wing profile as the original Rigor Mortis and overall the Flockus with the straight-cut leg wing (just like yours, Kernel) is still my favorite profile for my body.

RM II is awesome but it likes to be flown fast, fast.

In the end, both your body and your flying style are the most critical variables for choosing the most appropriate wings.

And talking about husky pimps, check out the Voluturius!

Pictures of the RM II and Delta_9 prototype with Flockus wings. The production Delta_9 has a longer three-pin container.
