So some medics were taking care of a jumper with a nasty tib/fib fracture at the potato bridge when one of them says...
"Well, don't be too hard on yourself. Stuff happens. At least you're not that Karnowski kid. He's an idiot."
No joke.

I would take it seriously; but it's serious and ridiculous at the same time. -sl
So says hook-turn Mashaal.
"What we have here is a failure to communicate. There's some people you just can't reach."
Yeah that jumper is me. Shattered my tibia, had a nail put in the bone from the knee to the ankle and bolted it in place at the ankle and knee. Also broke the fibula in half about 6" below the knee.
Oddly, I still find it amazing how easily these two bones were broken in the canyon.
I would not have designed a two-legged animal shaped like a human. We're fucking hysterical looking! Yeap, given the right leverage those two snap like toothpicks. Drink lots of milk, take calcium supplement, eat lots of pussy, and used it until it hurts a little but not too much.
By the way, did you PLF?
No PLF. I was "running" it out. Not really running, more like a brisk walk. Landed on my right foot, took a step with my left foot, had just enough momentum remaining that I needed to take one more step forward with the right foot but the hiking boot sole became tangled in grass and I fell forward over a small branch that was about the diameter of your thumb that happened to be right in front of my right foot. I looked down and saw the entire thing and watched my tib/fib snap.
One surgery and three days in the hospital later and I'm finally going home today.
