So it is considered a felony now? Does anybody have the wording of the law? It seems rather pointless to discuss it without knowing the context.

There has NEVER been a law in the US against "BASE Jumping". The closest thing there EVER was is "Aerial Delivery" in the National Parks. However that does not really fit (different thread of discussion). But, there is the possibility of Trespassing, and/or Reckless endangerment that can be assessed. Those are NOT BASE Jumping specific. But the proposal is to add a law specifically against BASE.

Now, is reckless endangerment a felony? I know trespassing is NOT.

My first thought would be the same as tresspassing, but with a $30MIL suit on the books, I would assume they would make sure they NEVER get into this situation again.

Reunion Tower in Dallas may be an exception.

Please drop this frivolous suit, Jeb.

I've watched your vids and you seem like an O.K. guy. However, not only will you be ranked with all those who file such suits (i.e., the lady who sued McDonald's because she spilled coffee on her own lap), you'll also be taking the BASE community down, as I'm just getting started with my career in this sport. You might have the luxury of going off to these far flung places to jump. A good lot of us however don't.

There may still be a way this can be used for a certain advantage. Think "Prank call".

You will just have to go to another Country then... To many people are only out for themselves in this one.

I am aware of that. I was talking about the new law in NYC.

I do not think it has passed yet, but rather this is a reactive move to the lawsuit.

You might want to check your facts.
I know of at least one existing BASE specific prohibition, not in NPS.
