So I've never been BASE jumping or Sky diving before, and it has become a dream of mine to BASE jump down the Cave of Swallows in Mexico. Seeing as I've never jumped before, I was wondering if I could get some good advice on how to get started, and what kind of other special stuff I should know about jumping into a 1500 ft. pit. I'm pretty hardcore about this, all I need to do is find the time, training, and money. Any advice is appreciated.

After you log a couple hundred skydives...
Step #1 - Convince the Mexican Government to allow it again. (it's currently illegal - and not something you can just jump and run away from).
Step #2 - Become a very proficient BASE jumper.
Step #3 - Pay a shitload of money to get down there and to have the locals to "sherpa" for you.
Step #4 - Jump.
(Steps #1 and #2 are interchangeable)

I do believe this incident is a primary reason why there was a change in attitude toward Mexican cave BASE.
