    Slider question

When Jumping slider down I have heard people say to tie it down because it can move up. What is the best way to tie it down. If anyone has any pics it would be appricated.
    She said she was 16.

On the front risers, pull the slider bumpers up off the links, then the slider grommets down below the links, then pull the bumpers back down onto the links above the grommets. That will do it.

Then use whatever you want to tie it down, just remember to only tie down the fronts. Or just take the few minutes to take the slider off, less clutter and more peace of mind if you don't jump slider down often.

    Slinks are made for skydiving.

    Oh snap! Bwaaahahahhaa!

Seriously, he's right. you're better off with rapide links. If you get to the point that you decide slinks (or 'reserve' slinks) are better then you're at the point to figure out the best system to tie your slider down with those installed since they're not commonly used.

Rapide links aren't failing so the argument that slinks are stronger is irrelevant. Slinks can unravel though. Links cant and the bumpers keep the the barrel from ever starting to turn.

Some risers come with a velcro loop on the front set that you can use to tie down the slider. I think these are an Apex model but any rigger can add that for you. Go see Brandon and Simon.

Another option... take your slider off.

    peace sucka,

I would take it seriously; but it's serious and ridiculous at the same time. -sl

There's no best way to do the wrong thing.
There's no good reason in skydiving to tie down the slider.
there's no good reason in BASE to use slinks.

The best way to tie down a slider in BASE has been mentioned,
that is to secure it below the bumpers on the front risers.

The best way to make a slider down BASE jump is to take it off.

HAHa! dude... There is so much other metal on your rig other than rapid links. Yeah I guess if you were doing some super secret empire building-slider down type jump then I would hope you find a way of taking the slider grommets off you slider while you tie it to your risers

Other metal on your rig: friction adaptors, riser assembly to harness, grommets, ?housings?
but what do I know I'm only 16

believe me, it's been done. just think of "stuff" on you rig, do some searches and be creative. and can afford the riggin'or the rig to be made from scratch.

and that's just one thing in a chain of things that need to be eliminated, i didn't mean that just getting rid of the links it was over. come on man!

abbie, i'm workin' on your PM! yeah it's probably long?
