Waiting, waiting, waiting for the registration to open up. I've budgeted the trip out and am committed to going, so long as I can register. Dammit. Anyone else planning on going?

I am planning my first Norway trip this June. Just waiting to hear the dates for the Heliboogie 2005. Any advice for a Norway-first-timer are more than appreciated. Would enjoy traveling with some jumpers who have done the trip before.

Anyone want to split a rental car? The more the merrier. I plan to arrive Thursday evening and leave Monday morning. I have the flight numbers picked out, but am still just waiting for registration to open and dates to get posted so I can get the ball(s) rolling.

I'm in. I will be leaving Jackson, Mississippi, and traveling through Memphis and Amsterdam. Planning on a Wednesday to Monday trip, but nothing confirmed. My buddy bailed, so looks like just me. Would appreciate joining someone who has made the trip before.

    Hi!

The Stavanger Base club web page is www.basekjerag.com you will find some info on our guest book page. If you have any questions about getting to and from airport/ferry etc. your welcome to e-mail me and I will do my best to answer you..
Dont forget to bring some food to Lysebotn as there are no shops there and the food from the campground is expencive, its also a good idea to bring some bandages for blisters if you are planning to hike at all...
Hope to see all of you!
    Elin..

The link to keep an eye on the HeliBoogie is www.basekjerag.com. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you go to this website and READ EVERY PAGE!!!! It was amazing last year how many people showed up completely unprepared for the Norwegian environment, with inappropriate gear, and no radios.

Stein spent a lot of time creating the website to make it easy for people to know what to expect, what to bring, and what the requirements are. Please take the time to do your homework. You'll be very grateful you did.

Looking forward to seeing y'all there this summer!

    Peace,
    K

have to agree, its so easy to forget the simple things (as i did on my visit leaving my knife and radio in my kit bag in the white house!)..........because its a relaxed atmosphere, legal, and great fun, its actually more likely you will forget to take something to the exit point you may normally remember.......... If its your first time to Norway, then speak to people who have been before - there are always great tips to make it more enjoyable - taking food there would be my great tip - 4 days without any food other than pringles and beer that cost the same as a decent steak dinner and fine wine made me realise what else I had forgotten to plan for!!

as someone (luckily) keeps reminding us - "pay attention to detail"
