How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Rail

A BASE jumping site is better for this discussion. Just to clear Ray's name with the web nerds, I went out there with him on the last two trips. No, he wasn't jumping the rail, and doesn't jump the rail. Just because he doesn't like the rule doesn't mean he isn't following it.

If you are accusing him of jumping the rail recently because he's not happy with the rule, then you're assumptions are unfounded and incorrect. DW and Slim rail bailed, as well. Then there was the board and the rule, and none of these guys, including Ray, have done it since (that we know of).

It's not an action that is worthy of a$s-raping, tar and feathering, or banning from the bridge. Even boycotting Jimmy's video because there were some rail bails is just lame. This whole thing is blown way out of proportion. No one wants the bridge to be burned, but the occasional rail bail in light traffic seems very unlikely to get it shut down to jumping. This doesn't mean that I or anyone else is or should be doing rail bails.

The people that are starting the witch hunt have no BASE jumps and/or no information entered in their profile (which you usually can't trust, anyway). The first time around, the instigator had three tandems and, of course, 0 BASE jumps. This time, someone with no credentials is starting the ****storm. People are overreacting to posts on a message board made by people with zero credibility.

DZ.com is a $hit pit. It's all useless crap that has no place in real life or relations with real people. You all should know better. BASE jumping is fun and BASE videos are cool. It's amazing that the RB guys, who evidently realize this, were essentially ousted by a someone who'd never even made a solo skydive. All it took was DZ.com and some people with nothing better to do. Sad, sad, sad, and proof of how damaging online discussion can be.

Use forums for good. Keep your evil private. Life is no fun with all this negativity.

Happy Thanksgiving. Get offline and do something illegal this weekend. It builds character.

    - Steve

I'm laughing at the title of my own thread. Makes it sound like I started a coke habit while watching Dr. Strangelove... in front of my parents.

You are a Sick-Prick I new there was something I liked about You.

Seriously though, My habits as a jumper and the "RadixVideo"jumping
the rail Thread I started......Are Two Separate Things.

I just did not like that, KidWicked (poser.)
He is just a, little -S##t - starter / F##king, pisses me off going on
another Rail jumping thread. I just had enough of hearing about that crap.

(also) : It has just been raining a lot hear and cold and I was board and I
was using any excuse I could not to do my work. The PC was just there.
I was minding my own business ( I swear). It called me over, in a soft enticing voice saying, "Ray, start some crap on DZcom.".
I tryed to stop myself. I just could not Stop Myself, (it's a sickness)
the PC made me do it. Honest Steve, It did.

HAHAHHAHAA!!! I had to scold my compy after it told me to do that one (or seven) too many times.

The Internet is weird. My girlfriend, who avoids the whole thing, noted something interesting. Per Allison, everyone on the web hates me and everyone in real life loves me. We figured out that it's my awesome hair. These poor souls online never get to experience it. If only they had a glimpse at the glorious masterpiece on my scalp, there would be peace online. Until then... fukk those bastards.

That sums it up. Though, this site also makes a great place to provide the latest updates on my hair. OK, maybe not.

Hmmm. I've made a solo skydive. Maybe even more than one.

I still don't think it's a good idea to be standing on the rail or climbing the lower steel.

True, but I just that whole situation with those guys sucked. It all would have been different had my hair intervened.

Funny that you posted that here but not on the other forum. You're so brave!

Anytime you want to PM or email me and have an intelligent debate rather than throw insults around, feel free. That doesn't really seem to be your style though, does it.

What this all boils down to is that I (and many other people) have an opinion that you disagree with. You can't bare to even see someone state that opinion in a public forum!

Regardless, the majority of opinion is against you. Most people don't want jumping from the rail, so they don't do it. You yourself don't jump from the rail any more, and I applaud that.

Why are you letting this get to you so badly? Let it go man, you'll be a lot happier.

I haven't seen the radix preview in a while. I couldn't tell you when the jumps from the rail were made. Its just a little fu(king stupid to argue about. Hey KIDwicked how about Continum.... They jump from the rail in that video also. I hope to God you don't have that one either. Who knows when the jumps from the rail were made in any of those videos. Maybe they were made before the current ethics that state not to jump the rail. I constantly am seeing old video clips from older videos resurfacing. Or for that matter old clips from the video producers library. Sometimes to get that much footage worthy of a great video some of the stuff might be done anytime between now and who knows when. There might even be something in the Radix video from 1995. I might be wrong but I think that Ray is just sick of people bitching about stupid Shlt like this. Maybe there is a resonable explination like, the date of the jumps. For all I know those jumps were made a week ago but check into it before posting slanderous crap. All in all I agree with Ray and manbird here. These guys have taken a beating over the rail crap. Let it go. Also Manbirds hair is Fabulous!

Looks like a case of lastworditis. Leave DZ.com-style flames over at DZ.com.

    I do.

Jumps in Radix from the rail were made after it became standard ethics not to do so. I believe Jimmy has removed them from the final cut, though.

I'm guessing he did that out of a feeling for what discussions were appropriate on which forum. And because he knows I'll shut down discussions that become overly antagonistic over there. The two forums have different rules and different feels. I think that's a good thing.
