    What I stated above re: line twists, line length, slider size - is based on theory from myself and Dwain Weston. We shared our experiences and observations of BASE equipment throughout our BASE careers. This is what we observed via testing of fox/flik canopies - when you single out the other influencing factors. Just think about the dynamics.

    RE: McConkey is woosie/ 5th upper control line

    Hi!

    This discussion has raised one question, for me that is.

    I can buy that shorter line lenght is at important factor, just as slider design, is when it comes to increased inertia preventing a possible line twist. But how relevant is that discussion? I mean, how often is a line twist located above the slider? Assuming that we're talking 'bout slider up jumps?

    I'm thinking that a line twist is mainly a slider up problem and especially in sub terminal conditions when a canopy may be allowed to snivel upon sub optimal pressuriazation? Thus the main contributional factor to a line twist would be other than line lenght and mayby put us back into the discussion that body pos, fluctual air-flow, pilot-chute and such would be the major contributor?

    So the question is, what's the most common, line twist above the slider or under the slider?

    During my short and "not so many BASE jump career" I've never experienced a line twist (I'm not complaining) and I have almost no experience with slider down/off so I will not even try to put forward arguments 'bout line twist during that type of jumping.

    Hope someone can mis-understand me correctly here and help me.

    Take Care

    // Percy
