    Im glad I read this post because I couldn't figure out why my options had changed. I went back into my profile and changed it back before I read any of this post.

    BASE has reached a Plato after several years of growth.

    [font=Arial][size=2]* Single Parachute Containers are either Velcro or, One or Two pined.

    The Wing-suit and Tracking Suits provide some new talk and questions.
    * The packing, Slider-up, Slider-down, all basic Riging, Body positioning

    [font=Arial][size=2][font=Arial][size=2]Foe example:

    there are no basic questions to ask. Also the hype and fluff, combined
    with the Beavis and Butthead, Repartee is just not for them.

    There is nothing else to do but just read.
    There is always SPELL CHECKING. I realize that you were probably typing quickly, but someone has to bitch about something.
    If someone wants to see some bitching take place, let me step forward.

    um....where to begin.

    sence = sense
    Banes = Bans
    Plato ?? like the scholar? = Plateau
    pined = pinned
    Riging = Rigging
    Foe (what, are we speaking Ebonics now?) = For
    repartee = I'm guessing you meant "Repertoire"

    also, if the **** problem is getting you down, try:
    richard, peter, johnson, schlong, wang, one-eyed monster, purple headed yogurt slinger, heat seeking moisture missile, skin flute, cock, prick, magic stick, or just simplify by calling them a "Male Sex Organ"

    What does Snoop Doggy Dog use his umbrella for?
    Fo' drizzle, nizzle.

    Later,

    Re: Ideas/help driving traffic/posings back to BLiNC???

    I think postings will pick up but it will take time. I personally prefer the Blinc site but as has been pointed out, for a long time it was difficult to gain access. That has now changed (for me at least), so people will slowly but surely gravitate back providing you offer something different. Blinc should be like the hardware store on the corner; been there for years, full of good advice and specialising in a niche market (by the way you yanks that's pronounced neeesh not nitch and specialising is spelt with an s not a z, and thats zed not zee). Dz.com is more like your k-mart, good for people watching, especially trailer trash (chavscum if you live in the UK), but short on the specialist tools when you need them.

    I for one am getting so bored of the dz.com posts along the lines of "big shout out to my buddies who i only jumped with last night and who i could ring but would rather the whole world knows that i made a jump and i have a crew" which then is followed by a private back and forth conversation that references personal "in jokes" and is of interest to absolutely no one but the four people posting. I come to Blinc to try to get away from that incestuous twaddle.

    I want to hear anecdotes, yes, but only if there's a point to them or a humorous universal comedy moment involved.

    As for practical things, here's stuff i would like to see on Blinc (and if it already exists, then it needs to be made more prominent).

    1. A gear hub. Where jumpers can post useful links to any BASE related supplier. From knee pads to medical supplies, ropes and harnesses to construction hats and dayglo bibs. Not just the base manufacturers, all the other **** we use. I know the blinc shop has gone but you could still act as a market place for all this stuff.

    2. A comprehensive Video/dvd link/review service. There's a load of footage out there which is getting released. Links to sellers of these products plus info and reviews.

    3. Some kind of history. Not just Carl B created BASE, this is what it stands for. What about Jean B and all the amazing stuff she did? I want to hear about her. Who created the first velcro container and what inspired them. How did they test it? What was the thinking behind the double handed deployment of multiple round drogues the early pioneers were testing. Why not 60" pilot chutes? Why not 12ft bridles? Who found this out???There's so much stuff i'd like to know with regards the history and advancement of BASE. I know there are some old schoolers checking this site out and I really want to hear from them.

    4. Who are the current pioneers. Who should i be watching and analysing and listening to if i want to learn about sub terminal tracking, aerials, sub 150 static lining, videography, wing suits, reading weather, accessing buildings, picking locks, blagging security, not getting hurt.

    This i believe is part of what blinc should be doing. BASE stuff for BASE people. Genuine things that jumpers of all levels will find educational, interesting, amusing, scary. Not a bunch of people constantly bitch slapping each other and bigging up their rad pals. Let DZ.com have that kind of traffic. It's of use to no one. I find it funny at times but it's not going to help me become a better, safer, more knowledgable and less opinionated jumper.

    Blinc can compete with dz.com, but only if it offers something dz.com doesn't. Good luck Mick. You have my support and at the very least this is one more post.

    Hey Mick
    I changed mine back as i feel like i read it backwards..
    however couldnt you get a feature like on dz.com,were you simply jump to the post after the one your read last. that way people will not have to scroll up or down to get the new posts.Or a way to mark them so you can see which you didnt read.(talking inside a tread here)

    Hey.....Faber
    Even the Devil takes a day off, once in a while.

    Actually I was working on doing a Wing-suit jump with my
    BASE Rig, from a moving hot air balloon. Lot's of fun.
    Most likely will pack and do a Slider-up Antenna jump tonight.
