Fair enough, Ivan.
I see that this is a very close-knit community and you react to any intrusion with hostility. I have to say though, that we were not looking for Jerry Springer moments- the programme is supposed to take the parents on a journey so that they realise why their children do what they do.
Obviously a show where everyone gets on great and loves each other has no edge, so what we were looking for is a situation where there is a certain amount of conflict that is resolved throughout the course of the week, leaving both parties much closer and more
understanding of one another.
The show is about the relationship between parents and kid, NOT base-jumping per se. I just thought it would make an interesting background. The reason being that I can imagine parents being worried about it, as I know I would be.
I'd like to stress once again that I never presumed base-jumpers are anything other than normal people. Having spoken to one or two really nice jumpers on the phone I have confirmed this opinion.
All the best.
