    RE: Idea: Pivoting PCs

    Space,
so counterclockwise PC orbit corresponds to a left off heading and a clockwise PC orbit corresponds to a right off heading? I'm a little confused about this. I can picture why this probably holds when I consider where the PC is relative to the canopy during line extraction but I'm not quite sure. And would I assume the opposite rule if I jumped the PC was launched left (pitching with left hand) instead of the right, for example?

    thanks, Chris

Space, would love to come over and hang out. Can you send a personal jet?? I've never really had too many problems with 180's, even had a couple off sub-300' freestanders, and laughed so hard when I saw the object in front of me that I almost missed my risors and ##### my pants! Your science is not med-physiology, therefore is difficult to compre'ende?? spores are another subject. :7 Why would an orbiting p.c. not be in an already disrupted air-stream...i.e. burble???

I think pilot chutes pivot to the left in the Northern Hemisphere, and to the right in the Southern Hemisphere.
That means 90 left in Norway, 90 right Table Mountain.

Who can report on AV pilot chutes from Consolidated Rigging?

    RE: how much torque?

It (sensor calibration) was 27.17 mV/Nm. Got a reading of 1mV with 20 (360°) twists at 5kg axial. Couldnīt get any thing from 10 full twists,
this equals 3.68 Newton grams of force in a radial curve perpendicular to the angle of the bridle , or the best relative value I can come up with is it is like the force you have in your hand hanging straight down when holding 3.6 grams as compared when you donīt. divide by 2 and you get your 10 (full) twist value. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can do any more tests in this arena..you can check out www.fastechnology.com for our capabilities.
    take care,
    space
