RE: Now is the Flailing of USA BASErs

Now you guys have a chance to make a statement..
No one has the balls enough to even respond this..
Napolean Bonaparte said it best. "Glory is fleeting, Obscurity is forever..... welcome to óbscurity...

The following is from a very good friend of ours..

It is an analogy of life....-=-

    Life's Echoes -=-

A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, the son
    falls
hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" To his surprise, he
    hears the
voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" He receives the answer: "Who are
    you?"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" He receives the answer:
    "Coward!"

He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?" The father smiles
    and
    says: "My son, pay attention."

And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice
    answers: "I
    admire you!"

Again the man screams: "You are a champion!" The voice answers: "You
    are a
    champion!"

The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father
    explains:
"People call this Echo, but really this is Life.

It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a
    reflection
of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love
    in your
    heart.

If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.

This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life, Life
    will
give you back everything you have given to it.
    end,
    nuff said.....
    very dissapointed :(

A few years after the "Iran Hostage Crisis" I was on a flight back from Europe with the Vice-Chief of Staff of the US Army. There was a huge earthquake in northern Iran in that days news. He called for his attache and demanded to know how many YEARS of surplus rations the Army had. Without blinking the attache said, "Four years Sir."
With that The General said, Send them two years worth.
Space, Did you know about that? Nobody ever mentioned it anywhere.

It's poor form to be telling us what charity work you think we should be involved in. We are well aware of tragedy and strife in the world as well as in our own back yards. We do what we can without grandstanding or selfcongratulations.

The shoe is on the other foot now Space. Verdon is no longer free range for basers. Now; seeing as you like to use anologies and being as bright as you are, think about this. Would it do any good to attempt to garner the good graces of the village's mayor by sending money to the flood victims of Lyons?

The local jumpers would get a hell of a lot more mileage out of assisting in trail repair, trash removal or whatever might be appropriate according to local custom.

Don't come down on us for not responding to your pleas. Like I said in my previous post and in our private correspondance... we do what we can where it might have the greatest effect.

The analogy would be correct if the village mayor was the one responsible for flooding Lyons.
