    NPS documents being revised

It seems that the NPS is revising ALL of it's documents to include "BASE-Jumping" not just parachuting. I found several documents that will soon be in the Knowledge BASE under NPS. I hope to add them ASAP. They are in PDF format, but you can get a pdf reader for free at http://www.adobe.com

If anyone comes across relevant documents, please send them to me, or submit them into the Knowledge BASE. I could use all the help I can get to build our DataBase of documents here.

    RE: NPS documents being revised

    Hey Mick,

Can you point me to these documents of which you speak? are they on NPS' website? Concerns me of revision without at least some monitoring/knowledge of the process. Are you speaking mainly of internal policy/guidance documents or are you talking about some modifications to the rules? help me out - I want to see these docs. that you're talking about.

I donwloaded them and will have them up on the BLiNC Knolwedge base->legal->NPS section ASAP.
But for now, go to nps.gov, do a search on base jumping.
There you will see 18 documents. The morning reports and news clippings are old news. But there are some management papers that are in PDF format that are NOT old! Not when they refer to CFR's and reference the word "BASE-jumping" as well as "parachuting"

    RE: NPS documents being revised

anyone able to quote 36 CFR 2. 17( 3).. and tell us in what way it prohibits base jumping if it has not been mentioned by name in previous editions of the rule books.
Who are they to say what is and what is not an appropriate public use activity within national park areas. it was ok in the past. It looks like we are getting clamped down upon worse than hunters who can get permission to hunt and trap the fabric of the national park so removing them from the enjoyment of others. we don't take anything away or leave anything behind. therefor environmentally friendly .

It's pretty simple: The NPS is corrupt and self serving. They do what they want, when they want how they want, and where they want. Just ask the United States Federal Justice System.
