I really want to go this year, but unless the N.P.S. is planning on making a deposit into my social security account, there is no way in the world I'm giving them my #. If my innocent face ain't good enough for them, oh well, I guess I wont jump.

we do it every year. i got 4 in last year and i did not have to deal with the man at all. all it takes is a little planning and ground crew support. they never have a clue.

Can I film the whole thing? Im making a documentary on bandit jumps and think NRGB would be an ideal location. Wouldnt it be safer to do these jumps at nite though? I have a huge lighting rig which I can set up at the exit point and landing area so lack of light shouldnt be a problem.Look foward to hearing from you.;-)
I am probably not the only one thinking that "a huge lighting rig" would completely defeat the purpose behind jumping at night.
It would probably be difficult to be bandit like with "a huge lighting rig" illuminating the way for all those cheery rangers.
Perhaps to maintain the anonymity of the bandit stars of your documentary you could use Social Security numbers instead of names in the credits.
Just a thought. ;-)
Lights are ok. Everytime I go through, I get some strippers from Southern Exposure to drop by ranger central to throw around a few lap dances. You can have all the lights you want. Rangerland is otherwise occupied...and social security numbers become optional. :P

Don't Worry, Be Happy...
Most people aren't aware of this, but every April 1st ALL the rangers in the national park system are REQUIRED to meet in washington for the annual ranger conference, which leaves the bridge open to bust free jumps for just one day. last year I made six before 1:00p.m. but rain caused a early end to a great day. I hope to see everyone April 1st.

Ah C'mon now people! Dont start complicating thing here. How the hell am I supposed to haul my huge bandit BASE documentary lighting rig to the top of El Cap????!! Lets stick with the origonal plan - NRGB, April 1st, just after sunset. Im excited already!!:7
