    How much is Bridge Day?

If "GO FAST" is sponsoring Bridge Day, why do we have to pay again?
Jim Guyer's web site says there is a 'nominal fee'. How much is it?

    Sponsorship and registration

    Event Marketing 101:

Just because a company sponsors an event doesn't mean all fees are waived for participants.

    RE: Sponsorship and registration

That is obviously a Robin Heid response, undercover. He was bragging at perris that he works for Go fast. I wonder if the company knows anything about him. *whew*

    RE: Sponsorship and registration

It depends on how much "Go Fast" you consume. I drank 3 cans for lunch yesterday, then all this strange shllt started. I ran out of my office to the nearest facillite that was occupied, then had no other choice to resort to the stairwell. This morning one of the building maintiinence workers called security, they showed up and stated, "It looks like a Terrowist attack" ! There Will Be No West Virginia Bridge Day This October. Nominal

    RH strikes again

There is ample evidence that RH has his sticky fingers in the Bridge Day pie. Those with an entry in his little black book of lifelong enemies should expect to have hassles aplenty as payback. What fun!

Any of the new organizers (who knuckled under the SSN fiasco) care to elaborate? Is Robin part of the new organizing group? Yes or no.

"Mcglynn vs. Heid", will be heard in front of a judge in a court of law in Perris CA . Trial is scheduled for 8:am.
It's long overdue and should be a lot of fun.

    Bridge Day discussion

There has been a great deal of discussion recently on the board regarding the upcoming Bridge Day.

Following Sept. 11, the possibility of there even being another Bridge Day was threatened (remember last year?) I have known Troy Widgery, president of Go Fast, for the majority of my life, and I can tell you that he and everyone at Go Fast just wants to make this year's Bridge Day a success.

Similarly, I have known Robin Heid for many years as well. It is true that Robin assisted Go Fast in the bid-process for this years Bridge Day. Robin has never been an "employee" of Go Fast nor received any payment or wages for his work. His limited involvement in this event has been from a distance as a consultant. His intentions were to help the BASE community in making this years event a success. Despite your feelings towards Robin, he like many others, just wants to see Bridge Day happen this year, and be successful. His involvement with this year's Bridge Day is complete, and he is not an "employee" of Go Fast Sports and has never been.

I am personnally looking forward to this year's event. It is true that many things may be different at this year's event compared to the past. However, the support of many people on this board, such as Jason Bell, Tom A., Jim G, and others will greatly help make Bridge Day a success.

Details of this year's Bridge Day will be available at www.bridgeday.info

Hope to see you all there.

    Nick in CO

    RE: RH strikes again

The BASE community has fought for months to nix the SSN requirement, despite your assumptions that we all just gave in. We even requested that they change it to passports only for US citizens, but that got even worse as it involved Interpol. Then we tried to get Xray machines, but that costs over $7000 and most machines are in use since 9/11. Of course, we begged and pleaded at the beginning, as did Avery last year before they cancelled Bridge Day 2001. Nothing has changed since last year. If you wanted to jump at Bridge Day 2001, you were going to have to give them your SSN. We don't want to give up our personal information any more than you do. We've done our best, but it's hard to argue with the State of West Virginia, who's enforcing the SSN requirement.

Now, would you rather we all just boycott Bridge Day in protest? Not a good idea in my opinion. BASE jumping is, unfortunately, viewed as a crazy man's sport by many, including some good folks in WV. If we didn't show up this year, then maybe they won't even want us next year. And besides, how many legal bridges are there in the USA? It's the BDC's party, and we're fortunately invited this year. They've changed the rules, but if we want to jump then we're going to have to follow them. We're doing what we can to make this an enjoyable event for everyone. There are even a few surprises this year that will get everyone's blood pumping.

We're still working out a few bugs and getting things ready for online registration that will start at 2pm EST on July 1st, 2002 at www.bridgeday.info. This website should have all the information you need to register and get ready for Bridge Day 2002. If you have any other questions or concerns, or if you have a suggestion, we'll be glad to hear from you. You can contact everyone involved with the organization of Bridge Day 2002 at the website mentioned above.

    Cronic Liar

Word just in from some Top Brass in Washington. The trial set for next Teusday, May 28th,(Perris vrs. Robin Heid aka little man and a liar) has some changes. Robin will not be able to attend . From what we understand, some guy from Missouri City ,Texas will sit in for Robin, this guy is as good a cronic liar as Robin or maybe a little better. Seems Robin is stuck in one of them dope smoking dungeons somewhere in Afganastan. There will be very tight Security at this trial as many threats have been made against little man aka rOBIN hEID. For more information read the "L" section of today's Washington Post.&-)
