    RE: Tragedy in CO.

This was news i never thought i would hear. Everyone here at Perris is shocked to hear about the accident.

He single-handed changed how we practise, jump amd think about base-jumping. This is the greatest loss to our sport ever. I can't believe it happened.

You are gone, but your legend will live forever.

    Rsst in peace!

    Love Iiro

Please continue to respect the family and do not post any names until family has been properly contacted.

I lost my best friend in the world today and things will never be the same.

Michelle and I are both very shaken! Our hearts go out to the family. This is such an unbelievable loss.

If the family wants to talk to us, our door is always open

I also have the best footage of Dwain on the 24-way in Norway:

I am so sad. The best BASE jumper in the world has gone. And such a nice chap too.
Even if we never met in person (few times we came very close to jump together but due to personal engaments we never did...) I lost a friend. The only thing I regret now is not to have been able to meet him in person and jump with him.
I read with extreme interest ANY single post he made about BASE jumping, about new equipment, new techniques, mental approaches to do things and whatever, ANY of the above aimed to improve safety in our sport. He never saved a single word of advice to his less endowed friends, always careful to help his worldwide friends, God help him for this.
Fly free up in the sky, my friend, and, please, do not exceed 1000 front loopings on each of your jumps!!!
We will meet in that place where there are no more tears.
    Stay safe out there

Robert and I are both completely devasted by this tragic loss. There will never be anyone else like him.

Karin, if you need anything, please call. We are thinking of you and our hearts go out to you and to the family.

Slim, if you need a shoulder, please don't hesitate.

Lastly, I just want to say good-bye to our "Twinkle Toes". You are a One of a Kind individual who will be painfully missed and never forgotten.

    Love,

After 11 hours of mid-American highways home...and we are still at a loss for words or reason, only tears and shock. Our sincerest condolences and love to family and friends.

God Speed to the legend whose legacy will live on in all he touched.

    Tony and Cali

PS: A special thank you to the local Canon City community for the comfort and support you unselfishly offered all of us in a time of need...you are a truly a most compassionate and gracious host.
