prison for Eiffel jump

Is that true that someone has been in jail for jumping the Eiffel since several month, and will be there for years ?? Just heard this story from an unreliable connection...:-( :-( :-(

Prison? I would be surprised!
What is sure is that they keep your equipment and sale it on auction many months after!
Right now they check all the bags!

Other than gear confiscation, what have been the typical fines/punishment for getting busted there?

There is no jail time if you get caught jumping the Eiffel tower, however the punishment is 70 lashes with a 7 and half foot bull whip.:-(

No, that previous post bout the bull whip is complete bullsh!t. Its a fine, and your gear taken off you. I think the previous poster must be getting confused with iran, iraq or some other fu(ked up repressed society.
