    research

About to undertake masters thesis at University of Stirling, Scotland.
Trying to understand individual motivations into voluntary risk taking within the context of a society increasingly dominated by the control and reduction of risk.
The emphasis is on individual motivation, and is NOT a study into the dynamics of base jumping.
Can provide academic references and contacts before entering into any form of dialogue.
Anything discussed will be treated in strictest confidence, and only used by myself, and will not be used in any way which could identify any respondents.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

    Psyc major, eh?

I don't know if it will help you, but I have developed a personal philosophy on the difference between risk and danger, and how it applies to the mindset of this base jumper. It's the subject of many arguments I've had with close friends and family (non-jumpers) who do not necessarily understand or approve of my "risky" lifestlye. I'm not going to expound on it here because it's not worth arguing about. You can email me... mcm114(at)hotmail.com
