BAFFIN ISLAND.......OH MY FU(KING GOD!!!!

6 of us just got back from, with out a doubt, the coolest trip of our lives. A month long heli base trip to Baffin. Our group did 80 jumps off of 6 different cliffs and did several 30 second plus delays. Its by far the most beautiful, amazing place I've ever seen. Yosemite wouldn't even have a name in this place and El Cap and Half Dome would be considered lower shoulders of something medium sized. Look for it on OLN in November.
Sorry for bragging to you all about it. Just thought I'd give you all something to dream about!
The inspiration for this trip came from Barlia, Ox, that Lee something guy and climber Mike Libecki. Thanks you guys! You guy totally rule!

Baffin is a tough place. I spent 10 days (8/1999) hiking in to take a peek, but was beaten back by weather and tougher conditions than we were prepared for. But we learned alot. So 80 jumps from a chopper huh? Very pricey up there, AND, since some last people were there and pissed off the rangers, BASE is not welcome up there. Yosemite is a pimple to this place. I await photos and film to be convinced this happened. Also, I wonder how much hotter this makes the area.

Well, I hope I'm not pissing off the jumpers who have already been there by talking about this place on this forum. I was assumimg that everyone knew about Baffin. Yes Red Bull sponsored the trip. No, we aren't a bunch of rich brats who paid for it ourselves. Uuhh...well..brats maybe but...whatever anyway. It will be on OLN in November. 1 hour show. I will try to get ahold of some pictures to post for you all. I can't scan them myself caus all I know how to do is type on these dam computer things. We really did go there and it really is the most amazing place on earth as well as the most expensive and difficult to organize. Its not in a national park (at least where we went is not) and the locals welcome you and your guide fee $. There isn't a cop or a ranger for hundreds of miles in any direction. BASE heaven really.
