I am a South American student. I've heard you will make a competition in Kuala Lumpur at the Petronas Twin Tower this August. How can a BASE jumper from Brazil get on that jump?

Feral:
Right now there are 25-plus countries represented in the Petronas competitor field.
Only four of them are American (seppos), and there will be no more than four representatives from any single country in the event.
You are right that the trans-millennium jump and KL Tower Day were dominated by Americans. KL Tower I cannot speak to but if you saw my original trans-millennium invite list, you would see it included as first choices several of your mates and numerous jumpers from all over Europe.
Unfortunately, the late approval meant most of them couldn't make arrangements to come, and I ended with more seppos than I wanted because they were willing and able to lay down the cash and show up on short notice.
In both cases, though, the seppos anchored groups that created minimal problems with regard to their technical performances, and, in so doing, created a climate that has allowed the world championships, which have been in development for more than a year, to proceed.
And just to correct your statement: While KL Tower did in fact advertise "an international field" that turned out to be about 80 percent American and had representatives from only about six other countries among the 50-plus jumpers, the trans-millennium jump at Petronas was billed only as a world record extreme skydive and did not address the composition of the world record team. We did, however, have five different countries represented and, as I said, would have had jumpers from France, UK, Norway, Switzerland and (gasp) even OZ ;-) if there'd been a little more notice.

Skydiving from buildings eh? World record team??? What ever happend to jumpin an object for fun? Did you have fun? Isn't that what counts? The pictures looked FUN!! I too would like some info about how low- profile BASE jumpers could be INVITED? to this site. Is there a fun expedition going to this place?
So how do I get in the competition?
