Let me tell the whole story.....
It was in Peru. We were getting ready to do a water jump. I said to him, "Wow Avery, do you Ill Vision guys do many water jumps?"
He freaked out. He started speaking in tongues and screaching in German about how he was going to "capture" me. It really scared me. He pulled out a hook knife and started cutting his shirt to shreds. Keep in mind that we were fully geared up and about to go.
I had enough and jumped. Took a fatty delay and landed right next to the recovery boat. My girlfriend helped haul me in. No sooner had I gotten in the boat then Avery landed his canopy in the boat, hiting my girlfriend with his boots, which had specially designed pop-out knife thingies. She was cut up pretty badly. While she was trying to stop her bleeding, Avery kept bashing me in the skull with the boat anchor, screaming "Now you will understand about how your dog feels, you prick!" I don't even have a dog. I'm really more of a cat person. Some people hate the hairball thing but if you give them a simple over the counter medicine it really keeps the hacking down to a minimum.
Anyway, I finally stunned him with a bilge pump and we pushed him out of the boat and drove away. We got back to shore and got the hell out of there before he could swim to shore.
To this day I can't get in a boat. Me and my girlfriend broke up shortly thereafter because of the whole trauma. She's pretty shattered still. It's hard to lose 1/16th of an earlobe to a flailing knife boot and not be affected by it.
So everyone, please watch your step around Avery. He is like some sort of German commando guy or something.
BTW, if you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not Robin.

Your not Robin but you are hilarious. :D I think I am going start a comic book staring the Avery character you describe... man that is funny stuff. Keep it coming I'll ink the character we can call it the BASE-Men and Wolverine will have nothing on Avery. :7 Think of the potential for an X-men knock off using the characters on the baseboard. Look out Stan Lee..

Screw the f#cking BASE boogie.Lets have an Ultimate Fighting Weekend.No holds barred from Friday April 26th to Sunday April 28th.
I'll be there to offer Brazillian Jiu Jitstsu instruction to anyone who needs it.I can guarantee a win to anyone who takes my advice.
If the matches are looking a little lack luster I'll even jump in and choke a few people out.
All for the sake of a good time.
Now don't get all excited.I know you all want to get in there and mix it up but we'll have to organise some sort of a roster for matches.
Anyone interested should just add to this post and I'll seee what I can do.

just small suggestion, honorable grass hopper, in the interest of honorable spectators who perceive base community thru their conduct on honorable bridge, we have big fight in big valley in landing area after big sun go behind honorable mountain. I will meet you there!!

i know what you mean, i was in peru once... good surfing, cheap coke, good E's in the interior above the jungles (bad landing areas); avery had just a little too much Mata de Coca, and he didnt know that when you chew coca leaf, youre only supposed to throw in a little teeny ball of that gray alkali ball thing...he took a big dip of that stuff with his coca leaf and, well, you know...by itself that stuff will burn through stainless steel if you get enough of it....See ya, Robin...

Donk n Bonez will be there... provided we have it on a sheet of ice (ex-hockey player talking) and then it'll be "time to drop the gloves"... since that would be the only way we would ever have a chance to take down your oversized, Mojo 310 butt. ;-)

Drop me a line if you’re really going next week. Frappichino will be there for sure but I am still undecided.

Doink ???! First time was a typo...but this is a second time so it must be an affectionate knick name. I guess I'll let you be my BIAH-ITCH, especially if you’re as good at that oral expulsion thing Frappichino talks about. :9

By the way and speaking in military terms; The first in are usually the expendable resources designed to flush out enemy positions and cause the enemy to waste munitions before they send in the more valuable resources which ultimately win the battle. ;-)

3 BASE jumps? Compare your experience to the total level of experience at an event like this and you may realize that perhaps you don't know as much as you think. There are a lot of jumpers out there with a whole lot of different experiences and stories. If you want to jump your ass off, get there a day or two early. Better yet meet some people who you can learn a thing or two from at the event and stay a day or two later and jump with some new friends. There will be a lot of very competent, educated, and generous people at an event like this. Ignorance can be cured, but not if YOU don't make an effort. If you want to find out about Avery or someone else, go to the source. Don't believe what you hear. Rumors and gossip are for people who choose to remain ignorant to the real facts.(It's BS and attitude like this that make the Drop Zone drama what it is, don't bring it to the BASE scene!) Events like this offer a lot of opportunity to share info and ideas, don't get yourself blackballed. It's a small community and if we can't get along or at least communicate, we are all in big trouble. I didn't go to Bridge Day to jump my ass off. I got 2 and waited in line for 4 hours total. I met a hell of a lot of cool people and learned a whole hell of a lot about some things I didn't even know were out there. You can't figure it all out on your own, you won't live long if you try. I got some of the best advice of my life from a generous, intelligent, experienced, trustworthy and loyal friend and I'll pass it on to you, "Lighten up !!!".(Thanx Jimmy)
Ask a lot of questions from people who really know what's going on and a bit of humility wouldn't hurt either. Leave the bat at home and bring a few beers, you'll have a much better time.
