    perrine/may base boogie

im very interested in coming to the base boogie in late may; but im not interested in coming if avery and the ibpc will be there poking people in the ribs for 250.00$ or whatever for "permission" to jump off this already legal and free bridge. Im interested in jumping with real base jumpers, and learning from their experience; Im planning on jumping from dawn to dusk throughout the weekend, but i have no interest in having the ibpc take control of the bridge and issue me "exit passes" "allowing" me to jump at or after certain times to give "competitors" unfettered access to the bridge and landing area. To save my having to bring a baseball bat along, someone tell me how its going to be. Im looking for maximum jumps, READ MAXIMUM pack and jump jumps...and i can come some other time when just cool people are having fun...(yes, im a low timer, and havent fallen under the avery spell). Thanks in advance. cya.

    RE: that baseball bat

I'll be there in May, I think Avery will be there too. The competition isn't until June, so you don't have to worry about getting in the way. Since you're a low timer, you probably haven't been to a competition, so maybe you don't even know Dennis and Avery and Harry. You sure talk a lot of sh!t. Go ahead and bring the bat, we'll all take turns shoving it up your a$$.

    RE: perrine/may base boogie

Well Mister "low timer", here is the deal. The IPBC runs a voluntary competition for people who wish to compete. It is in June and lasts only two days. That gives you and your monster attitude 363 days a year to jump with "real base jumpers".

Last week I returned from taking two jumpers on their first trip to Perrine. We had a great time and all returned safely. But, they failed to hold my IPBC competitions against me. The best way to use your baseball bat is to knock some sense into your own head. It is readily apparent that you don't know what you are talking about and don't even have the good sense to ask a few questions first.

For people with a reasonable attitude, IPBC events can be tremendous learning opportunities. BASE jumping is not like professional wresting. You don't have to talk a bunch of ##### before the event. Lots of people are available to jump with you and help you, but that chip on your shoulder will have to stay at home.

Well, sorry. Maybe thats not quite the attitude i wanted to project. Ive got three jumps, and i can only go on what other people tell me. Who is Dennis, Who is Harry? Isnt avery and robin that i threatening and screaming at each other for weeks on this site and you expect me not to believe when im told these two are psychos? If im going to spend time and money to come jump and find out i cant jump; how would you feel about it? And why wouldnt a beginner want to jump her ass off? Dont you want to jump? Maybe if you saw me youd know why i need a baseball bat. Never mind, i can come another time...Enjoy your guy fest thing whatever.

OK, let's press the RESET button. Send your email address to jsurber@dlab.com and I'll fill you in on how to go whenever you want, and JUMP FOR FREE. BTW, we are not having a "guy fest thing" - lots of women participate in the events and compete on an equal basis.

Thanks Surber, that's really nice of you. I dont mind running into jumpers at the bridge, but id be nervous about sending an email address to a stranger (no offense really). What is a troll? I dont understand what that meant, but thank you for the positive response. Sorry everyone for my misinformation. Have a good memorial day :) bye

and some of us even win! teehee!!! it's great fun! have a bit of an open mind there, base enthusiast and don't believe everything you've heard thru the grapevine. perhaps come meet the participants/organizers and then make up your own mind. they/we really aren't a bunch of monsters. but then again, i suppose i'm prejudiced.......

    RE: perrine/may base boogie

I too am relatively new to the BASE community and would encourage you to be a little more considerate to some of the "faces" that have done great things for our Sport. Whenever I have asked a question; be it here or at an event, I have gotten (for the most part) very friendly and cooperative responses from many of the folks mentioned above. I do not even try to understand all this IBPC Vs. whoever FUD but try to ignore it and not allow it paint a false impressions of good people. There are obviously some major issues there that we should choose to ignore until we are better informed and can make an intelligent decision on who side to take...if any. ;-)

As far as the bridge goes, contact surber (a.k.a. Frappichino) we just made a trip there with him and had a great time and he has all the contact information.

    Donk out

    meanies

Once, Avery beat me and my girlfriend up because I asked him about Ill Vision. He's crazy. My girlfriend almost died (he hit her with a big boat anchor, one of the pointy kind) and the local cops did nothing about it because they were all in cahoots. Avery is very powerful. Don't cross him.
