    Perrine at Thanksgiving

Hey folks, I was hoping I could get some input into what the conditions in Twin Falls will be like over Thanksgiving. I mean, will the river be frozen, will the bridge be covered in ice, will Bert even want to work, will it be just too damn cold, etc.? Some friends and I are trying to get a trip together, but we figured it might be better to figure this aspect out before we buy plane tickets n' stuff. Thanks for your help.

    Gork:

The Perrine at Thanskgiving will likely be COLD. It can be jumped then (I know some fools who went in January last year), but be prepared to get cold, and be ready for wind potential. I'm not sure if Bert will be willing to drive for you (I'd guess yes, since he's usually very good about coming out any time), but remember that as a regular human he probably has family commitments around the holiday. Try giving him a call and asking.

An alternative thought. If you have the experience and skills (I'd want around 50 jumps and to have had and handled a 180), Moab is much nicer than Twin Falls that time of year.

Wherever you go in legal land, have fun, stay safe, and keep one eye on the ground.

Thanks for the advice. Will definitely give Bert a call. Unfortunately with only 6 Base (bridge) jumps (and only a 90 right) I do not plan on hitting Moab anytime soon. Went out there this summer with some other people and checked out Tombstone (Tubestow) from the top. Intimidating. Glad to hear you're doing well dude. Get back in the air when you can.

Bert and Don have put the boat in storage for the winter. We were fished out last weekend by some river-going deer hunters, two of whom were the same guys who rescued Evel Knieval in 1974! They had great stories, of course.

Andrea, I very much enjoyed seeing your first BASE jump! Always, the best part of any trip there is going with friends and meeting/jumping with nice folks like you guys. I very much hope to see you and Jim from Vertigo again next year! Take care, Chuck

Thanks so much for your congratulations, Yuri! I appreciate them so much!
If you remember, it was just you that in far February 1999 (or so) gave me the e-mail of Simone and so I started to get in touch with the Italian BASE jumpers like Simone, Alex and folks.
That is why I am so gratetul to you, Yuri!
Thanks again! In few days time I am going to write an e-mail to all the BASE jumpers I have met (both personally and via Internet) describing my wonderful adventure. It will be a surprise for my Italian friends! Don't tell them, yet!
Next time you are in Italy, e-mail me well in advance, this time we must meet personally!!! It is a must!!!
    Blue skies
    Andrea
