The Best $2000 I've Ever Spent...

...was the Norwegian Cave BASE expedition.

Wow, that was so much fun!

    Highlights included:

    Lots of jumps for everyone.

Johnny 9 Lives car skiing down a Mexican highway in the rain.

Two ways, three ways, four ways, linked exits, tree exits, piggyback exits and horny gorillas.

Touring this crazy surrealist temple in the jungle.

Christopher MacDouggal, Esquire, performing the first ever Cave McConkey.

A certain young Norwegian demanding to be thrown into a Mexican jail, just to see what it was like (the police refused to oblige him).

The gulf coast crew showing us how to really party--and the Norwegians showing them up.

Some Finn making an ultra-low pull, which I am certain was intentional.

Our special guest celebrity magician bending forks, cards, and minds.

The Harrisons showing us that even old timers can do aerials.

Trying to figure out which of Douggs crazy maneuvers should be christened "The MacDouggal" (perhaps that bit the last night in Tampico...)

And, of course, the ride out of the Cave on the rope, with birds flashing all around us, after some old timer from Texas gave me a bit of breath freshener.

Thanks for the great trip everyone!

P.S. When are the Norwegians organizing an Angel Falls trip?

Oh, and did I mention that I brought home nearly three hours of video--which I can use however I want?

Welcome home, Tom! Glad you are safe; been a bit quiet around here without you. Drop me a note - it is rainy and cold up here, love to meet up with you in "the land of eternal optimism" for some running exits from 2k.

    Peace,

You quitters!!! Party still continues in Tampico. ;-)

A few flashbacks from the trip in my point of view:

Thanks Norweigians!!!! You propably got the loudest and hardest partying group ever to handle, and you still managed to run everything perfectly. You are doing a great thing for base community and jumpers!

Congrats to Tom for the first ever McConkey base number (last object -E- was the cave)!!!

Gongrats to Dougs for proving that Australians are more grazy than Finns!!! You know what you did the last night in Tampico... ;-)

    Harrison brothers kick ass!!!

The Golf Coast crew is muy loco, especially John (he has lost it :-)) !!!

Norweigians party hard and they bleed too... Get well Stein!

As far as i know, everyone except myself made it to the plane. Thanks everyone for a one memorable trip!!!

Welcome back Tom! Sounds like another great BASE adventure under your belt.

And no way D-dog -- Tom's mine! Time for you to come my way Tom!!! (just giving you a hard time dog)

Tom, I just got back 20 minutes ago from another trip to...errr...better not say it...this isn't Europe (home of the free). But think about your 1st 4-way jump and I think you'll figure it out from there.

Hey Dog, one of our locals, who is also a good friend of mine, just emailed you about roping up in the desert over Turkey weekend. He's a sharp dude and has his stuff together...so if your looking for references, he gets 2 thumbs-up from me.

Hope you guys have fun in the desert! And Tom, you should swing through there for a week of jumping with the Dog...it's a great place to be this time of the year.

    C-ya!

Wow, sounds like a great trip Tom! Due to mierable weather conditions here jumping is difficult, despite the "ambient light" and the fact that all the exit points are "a little breezy" to quote the dog. How are things in your area?

    Any interest in visitors?

    Be well!
