Smile El Gigante - Copper Canyon

I've committed to go on Jay's trip to El Gigante this spring (http://basehound.tripod.com/id3.html) and I'm freakin excited!

I'd like to hear from some others who have gone already.

    Thanks,

I would take it seriously; but it's serious and ridiculous at the same time. -sl

This trip is most excellent. The location is only the start. The organization is fabtabulous. That's rite, so good I had to make up a word...

If you can pull it off, you should check it out. But I have to warn off yahoos that just want to jump a lot. It's more for the soul-flyers among us in search of that one great object to burn into their life line.

Also very technical, so don't lie about your experience. The life you save will be your own.

My warnings about Abbie are a different story... Actual quote, "Ummmm I'm ... 90% sure this is the exit point..."

    See ya

    Wingsuits 1st, as always.
But to get back on subject...

Top 10 reasons to go on this trip.

#10 Watching Moe play with human skulls
#9 The pilot looks like TC from Magnum PI (and has a 10,000 hr cert from Bell Helicopters)
#8 Mexican military is easily bribed w/ Go Fast (thanks Troy).
    #7 The guacamole
#6 Tree landings at the ranch
    #5 The abondoned drug-lords' house
#4 The phunny smell coming from Jay's room
#3 Copper Cayon Rocks! The scenery can't be beat...
#2 Duh, the helicopter! (easy altitude)
And the number 1 reason to go on Jay's most excellent Copper Cayon Heli-boogie...
Avery probably won't be there to play with road kill (that was disturbing, mate...)

    See ya

Yeah man, that weekend was great! Don't forget that I waited a few seconds to make sure I hear your wingsuit flying and not your torso hitting the wall before I ran off!

I'm psyched about copper canyon. Am i supposed to bring my own assortment of skulls or are they provided?

    great trip.

Few highlights from when I was there...
    - the jumps... the greatest visuals around
-the people... the coolest bunch Jay, Sam, Ben, Damian, Avery, Brian, Brice, Gabo
    - the girls!! Lisa and Annie
    - the canyon... incredible
    - smokin' out in the abandoned drug lord house
    - the little girl taking a shit on the sidewalk outside the restaurant
    - the dog eating the dead horse on the side of the road
    - Don Fernando and the food
    - horseback riding
    - the black cock
    - the van ride
    - the border crossing
    - my birthday
    - private time in the woods with my wife
    - the stars bright as hell!!!
    - the hole in my canopy!
    - Avery checking out the other side of the wall!

    countless others.

this place is where great BASE stories are made and great friendships are formed. A wonderful trip that will be at the tops of my many great adventures.

    -----------------------------------------APEX LOAD----------------------------------------

We have confirmed that Marta and Jimmy will be running there own load into the canyon this March. The other group has been filling up, and we are ready to start putting together our second load for March.
For those of you that don't know Jimmy and Marta..... these folks are a lot of fun as organizers , as well as their vast knowledge in the field of sub-terminal to Ill-Terminal jumping. I bet this load will be pretty damn fun.
A few other project will be going on during this load, but we'll let that cat outta the bag later...............

    Thanks for playing,
