BASE jumpers arrested in downtown Nashville

Metro police arrested a pair of thrill-seekers early Sunday morning.

Around 5 a.m. officers responded to a call for assistance from state troopers who were working security at the Capitol.

2 Men jumped from the downtown Sheraton Hotel, released their parachutes, and safely landed on Legislative Plaza.

A witness tells us it looked like the men were going drop their parachutes quickly and get into a waiting pickup truck, but the officer stopped them before they could leave.

Detectives say the men will face felony reckless endangerment charges.

One of the suspects told our photographer that he and his friend travel the world performing BASE jumps and that what they did Sunday morning in Nashville is no crime.

This is a common BULLSHIT tactic to scare the jumpers and use their muscle to keep them locked up but it does not hold up in court.

Isn't this Hotel they jumped just a couple city blocks from the Tenn. State capitol building & State Supreme court building ???

A Felony Charge would be in the Norm. for being caught there . If your are jumping in the state-seat, there is more ' LE & private Security' w/ More Camera & vigilance for surveillance . . & you will be charged the Max & made example of .

That was just news hype.
Charges were dropped, they were released without even getting booked.
they continued to get BASE within 6.5 hours, including the above setback

they should have drove to the nearest Casino right after that & Bet the long shot to win .
