Red brick with white-trimmed windows and scuffed wooden floors, the factory made fabric for train seats, parachute silk and men’s suit linings over the course of its 123-year history. It closed in 2007 and, if one wanted an emblem for flagging manufacturing towns, the old factory would be a good choice
