    pool exit practice

I wanted some opinions of proper pool training to practice my exits as to achieve optimal body position from exit to deployment. Just some general techniques so I can practice up for my first freefall. (all PCA's thus far, and no problems there). Thanks in advance. BTW, I'd have my "BASE mentors" help me out....but those lucky fellas are en route to Perrine for a nice vacation. Enjoy!

What you need to do is strip down to your best pair of banana hammocks, march straight up to the higher platform and chuck yourself off head high in a perfect arch form. The first 14 tries you should not practice pulling. Just simply arch as hard as you can until you hit the water. If you get scared of the water coming at you just close your eyes and swear at it.

    01-374 - Glen Canyon NRA (UT/AZ) - Diving Fatality

On Tuesday, July 17th, park visitor Sason Sharife was reported missing as a result of a cliff diving accident that occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Sharife, 33, of Greeley, Colorado, was vacationing with friends on the San Juan Arm of the lake near Wilson Creek. Witnesses said that he attempted a backflip from a 30-foot-high cliff, but struck the water on his stomach, went underwater, and did not resurface. Rangers arrived on scene and began dive operations that night. The water depth in the area where Sharife disappeared declined sharply to a shelf at 117 feet, then dropped again for an unknown distance. The initial search of the shelf was unsuccessful. The following morning, the dive team deployed Glen Canyon's remote-operated vessel (ROV), which is equipped with a camera and retractable arm for recovery, and discovered Sharife's body at a depth of 273 feet. This is the second cliff jumping fatality this year at Lake Powell.
