    Re: jobs vs. base

When ever i have spare time. If it's a high bust jump I will do it after work on my Friday so if I do end up in jail I have a few days to get out.

i work for an architecture firm. my boss and coworkers all know what i do. My boss actually designed the lobby and the penthouse suites at a 30 story residential condo that i've jumped a couple times. he has requested to see me jump.
if i sometimes show up late on a monday morning, he usually willl jokingly say he thought i got busted jumping over the weekend, and thought i was in jail...

&we think that your base jumps are very cool, and we urge you to keep doing what you love. However, we do ask you to please leave your parachute at home during business trips. It is a liability the company cannot afford.

I would take it seriously; but it's serious and ridiculous at the same time. -sl

After 6 months off work, still on crutches, I went back to work. I was asked "are you going to jump again", I said "yes". They said they could not take the risk, gave me a pay off and got me to sign a contract that I would not sue them.

Maybe it was not BASE that got me out of my job, but my terrible skill at it!

I was out of work a long time, i was jumping pretty much all the fucking time. Now im working again and i'm struggling to adjust...especially working outside in the heat 60 hours.

I make my jumps, just a lot less, i try to make it a weekend thing or if weather 100% guarantee's it then i'll say "fuck it, i'll just go tired to work"

I'm always tired at work, sick and tired. Come to think of it I am sick and tired of being sick and tired at work.... I doubt I'd get a severance payout though.... sigh.
