Dude I thought Kevin McGuire gave you pretty good advice to you on DZcom on this subject.
I really Do Not Think that anyone that has ever put in the hard work and countless hours of cutting and sewing and re-cutting and re-sewing. Then that person jumping hundreds of jumps on his work. Then going back and making more changes and Sewing again. This process goes on and on and on for years for people to make Rigs.
    .
No one is going to just hand you there patterns and years of hard work for you to go out and sew your first BASE Rig.
You must have the mechanical aptitude and ability to visualize what you want to create Yourself. Then transfer that mental blueprint to your Hands and sewing machines and Make it. If you can not do this. You have no business making a BASE Rig.
You are most likely just going to do it like everyone else has done it before you. Go out and buy sewing machines and materials. Just start sewing. starting with just you Learning and making the simple mechanical components that Go Along With a BASE Rig. Like maybe, Risers, Toggles, Pilot Chutes, Leg Pads, Tuck Flaps, Harness Work, Hardware components. Learn stitching and Seam Binding or learn how to build and size up a safe Harness. Then put it all together and Then just do it. Make One.
You can not expect anyone to just Hand You Over a blueprint and Knowledge so you can just simply build a complete BASE Rig.

    .
who is talking about complete rig, just the container, then the blueprints were just one among anthers things i was wondering.
btw most of the people in europe and that i know do share experience, info, so that one doesnt makes the same mistakes, i think its the diferent attitude toward copeople, we (expecialy) in easter europe still have some cooperational feeling that the socialist times left us, but i thing that rude capitalism that is imported from west is just eating us up, but that is another story ...

just so, i know people who did their own containers, even people with years of rigging and sewing and making canopies did it with the help of someone..., but it never hurts to ask felow jumpers who went thru the same thing, one could acctually learn something

there's more than one wayt to skin a cat, try useing an old tsoed container for and make some mods,m or just use it for unpacked jumps. but seriusly Ray is absolutly right. and velcro rigs kick ass and are cheap. if u like sewing make me a quilt, I like Blue and make sure it fits a queen size bed.

    Hey Maggot,

You found your way here too, huh?

Stop ****ing around on the Internet, go back to work, make some money so you can buy me that Harness machine I wanted for a long time, and also get a double needle because I'm sick and tired of putting binding tape with my 20U!

Then I can start building BASE rigs, quit my job, and become a billionaire!

    Jupija,

    1. Do you have access to all the four sewing machines needed for building a rig?

    2. What is your sewing experience, i.e. years/projects?

    3. So that you know both Ray and Kevin did build lots of rigs and they both came up with outstanding products. Ray's Velcro rig is one of the best I've ever seen. So they are not just speaking out their asses.

    4. Asking fro help on a forum about building a rig is worthless because it's a hands-on task.

    5. If you live in Ljubljana, then not far from you there is a famous factory. Knock on their door and see if they are willing to take you for an internship.

    6. So that you know the container is the hardest part to make. The harness is no sweat if you got a good machine.

    7. If you know so many "socialists" European friends who are willing to share their knowledge with you, why bother posting here?

    8. I'm not trying to be an ass, just a bit realistic.

    9. I would love to build my own stuff too but I am aware of points 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 enven though I got some decent sewing skills.

    Yo Nick,

You are not far from MD, so drop by if you need to make a harness, and maybe a jump too.
